Education

The second edition of INDEX will once again include an educational programme, with the aim of promoting different types of contact between the audiences and the event. The activities of this programme are organised by Circuito, the educational service of Braga Media Arts, whose mission is to create links between art, technology, and the community. Both INDEX and Circuito are initiatives developed in the context of Braga’s designation as a UNESCO Creative City in the field of Media Arts.

As in the previous edition, Circuito offers guided tours of the Biennial’s exhibitions, conducted by the artist and mediator Joana Patrão.

A series of guided tours with different itineraries and durations have been designed with the general public, families and schools in mind.

Circuito goes to INDEX is a hands-on workshop for children and families, inspired by the Biennial’s theme and designed to encourage creative thinking and artistic expression in younger audiences.

As part of the regular cycle of BMA labs, which are dedicated to different practices in the field of media arts, Circuito also hosts the masterclass Compositional process in SYNSPECIES. In this session, the artists Elías Merino and Tadej Droljc take the audience behind the scenes of their creative process.

Through these different participatory activities, this section of the programme hopes to extend the reach of the Biennial in the region and strengthen the relationship between the artists, their work, and the local community.
