Artist, filmmaker and poet P. Staff (b. 1987, United Kingdom) explores the ways in which history, technology, capitalism and law transform the constitution of contemporary bodies, their tissues, their minds, and their social spheres.

Through episodes of almost white, clinical light and poetry, the viewer is immersed in Minimum World, Staff’s latest and largest poem-turned hologram. Set in a corridor-like space, the work is a sober yet alarming diagnosis of the present, a poem that offers no illusion of hope—it views the world’s violence and brutality as irreversible. Stripped of color, lines of text appear, waver, disappear, and recede. “Minimum World” spins and shatters into pure white, at times exposing its skeletal framework—the effect is radiographic, evoking the fundamental reconfiguration of materiality and solidity by the X-ray, which forever subverted the traditional division between the visible and the invisible.
