ODE: Orquestra de Dispositivos Eletrónicos + Pedro Augusto + Mariana Vilanova
Promoted by Circuito -Braga Media Arts Educational Program, Orquestra de Dispositivos Eletrónicos (Electronic Devices Orchestra) is a project with regular activity, open to the local community, with the intention of promoting informal meetings around sound production based on technology. This year, its artistic direction is in charge of the Portuguese artist and musician Pedro Augusto. Through an artistic residence, they are preparing a special show for the first edition of Index, a performance that will feature visuals by Mariana Vilanova.

Pedro Augusto (1983) works as an artist and musical composer for Dance, Theater, Performance and Cinema. He has a vast phonographic career as musician, producer and editor in several Portuguese music albums in the last decade. Conducts training, since 2011, in various aspects of sound: from theory to synthesis. He is responsible for the Found Tapes Porto archive and the Live Low music project.


Mariana Vilanova (1996) is an artist currently living and working in Porto. Through photography, video or multimedia installations she has been producing artworks that bring us closer to themes and challenges of the 21st century, such as the impact of technological advances on human beings and on the planet. In 2021 she completed a Masters in Multimedia (FEUP) with the artwork ‘Evoking a Simulated Past’ (gnration). Since 2016, she exhibits regularly, highlighting the works ‘Hiato’, with Francisco Oliveira (Semibreve Festival), ‘War and the End of Empathy’ (Municipal Gallery of Porto),and the exhibition ‘Before and After Us’ as the third moment of the project ‘Future Past Imaginaries’ (Rampa Gallery). In 2019, she won the Sonae Media Art award for the work ‘Systems Synthesis’ by the berru collective, which she was part of until 2020.
