TouchDesigner for Interactive Installations
TouchDesigner can be quite the beast with its wide range of uses. This full day workshop will focus on the elements required to get started with TouchDesigner as a tool for interactive installations: besides video playback and image based effects, topics will include generative 2D/3D and rendering, interfacing with external input and output devices as well as investigating various protocols to allow control of an installation.
Markus Heckmann is a Technical Director with Derivative where he works on commercial and artistic projects alike spanning major theme park attractions to public video displays, art installations like Carsten Nikolai’s uni series, live visual projects for musicians such as Matt & Mark Thibideau, France Jobin, Plastikman, Alva Noto and the development of fully fledged control applications like WhiteVoids KineticLights. Apart from project and development work, Heckmann is actively promoting TouchDesigner and teaching its uses in the fields of art and technology to the interested public at companies, festivals and conferences around the world.
